| As many of you know, I worked for Comerica for twenty two years and just started my own business in coaching and reflexology the last couple of years. Much to my surprise and pleasure, Comerica’s Treasury Management department recently contacted me and asked me to join them at a vendor fair for the Association of Financial Professionals in Vegas last month. It was a new and interesting experience. |

| Comerica’s theme for the booth was “Winning Choices”. For the previous two years they had a handwriting analyst join them in order to attract conference attendees to their booth. They wanted to do something different. They brainstormed the idea and came up with a Career Coach. However, when they contacted me, I suggested that they consider Life Coaching since everything in life if about life choices. | |||||||||||||||
| I
had an opportunity to talk with lots of attendees over the three days.
People completed the Wheel of Life
and then determined which aspect of their life they would like to focus
on for the next few minutes. It was very interesting to see what people
are willing to commit to in just a few minutes in order to have more satisfaction
in their lives. Accountability is also very key to the coaching process,
so I tried to build in some level of accountability (ie: asking spouse
for feedback, send me an e-mail to let me know how they’re doing
with the commitment, having the person with them agree to follow-up with
them. |

| I found it interesting that almost every person I talked to was less than satisfied with their financial situation. Many were at a 5 – 7 on a scale of one to ten, but only one had a 10 on his wheel. However, in talking with him, even though he had a 10, the highest level of satisfaction in regards to his financial situation, he was not happy with his life. And, of course, most of the other people seemed to believe that if they had a 10 in that one category, they would be satisfied all the way around. Unfortunately, this man was struggling in several other areas of his life. Due to his wife’s poor health, his relationships, his personal growth, his career and his dream (which had also been his wife’s dream) to travel were all suffering. I share this, not because I have the answer, but to say that sometimes things aren’t always what they appear. It may be that you have to really spend some time defining your values and determining what is most important or what you’re willing to give up. | |||||||||||||||
This is probably a long story to explain this

| I'm
happy to announce that I received my Certificate for Reflexology on April
30th. That means I’ve completed all four levels of course work including
170 hours of study, practicum, written and applied techniques for the Footnotes
for Health, LLC Reflexology Program. This program looks beyond the physical
challenge to address the impact of emotional stresses on the body for a
comprehensive application of the body/mind integration. |

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sports Spouses - The Challenge of Being a Coach's Wife Being a coach’s wife takes a special person. You automatically become the CEO of your household and family. You are the “glue” that holds it all together. When it’s time to move, you make all the arrangements. When it comes to dealing with the kids issues at school, you deal with the teachers. When it comes to soothing your spouse’s bruised ego after a loss, you’re the one who’s there for them. When recently working with a group of coaches’ wives and asking the top three to five challenges of being a coach’s wife, the number one reason was loneliness followed by work/life balance, limited family time, lack of communication and dealing with change. Sound familiar? Being a coach’s wife may be fulfilling enough for some women, but not for others. That certainly doesn’t mean that they don’t love their husbands or that they’re not supportive. It may just mean that they also need to be fulfilled as a person themselves. By working with a coach, women would have an opportunity to find out what it is that fulfills them. In addition, they can share experiences and build camaraderie. Coaching is an opportunity for the wives to identify their own goals and issues, develop a plan for obtaining them and be held accountable.
